Published : Thu 5th Sep

Future Parks is a unique and exciting collaboration between the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) and the National Trust (NT). Our partnership will generate new ways to protect and enhance access to parks and urban green spaces. It is the first truly joint initiative between our organisations and combines the best of our skills, resources and leadership to deliver our shared cause.

To ensure this pioneering initiative achieves its objectives we need to find the people that share the vision and passion, but most importantly, have the appropriate skills and experience to support local authorities and their partners deliver transformational change across their parks and greenspace estate.

We’re working with eight places: Birmingham City Council, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole unitary authority, Bristol City Council, Cambridgeshire County Council (and the six other associated local authorities), London Boroughs of Camden and Islington, City of Edinburgh Council, Nottingham City Council and Plymouth City Council. In addition we continue to work in Newcastle with the newly established Newcastle Parks and Allotments Trust.

We have a core team in place, the Delivery Director, Senior Investment Manager, Advisory Services Manager, three Account Managers, a Fundraiser and Volunteering and Participation specialist. Our attention now turns to support and coordination. We are now looking for an additional person to join us as a programme Coordinator. Closing date for applications is 23rd September, and the vacancy is open to internal (NT and National Lottery Heritage Fundcandidates only).

As the Programme Coordinator for Future Parks Accelerator we’ll rely on you to provide high-quality professional programme support to the Future Parks Accelerator team and our cohort of local authorities. You will ensure the smooth running of the programme, making sure it is integrated, collaborative and that there is a clear audit trail for decisions. You will help monitor the progress of this ambitious and innovative programme and will support communication internally and externally.
