Conservation

Our commitment to conservation is as strong as ever. In 2010/11, we spent record sums on conservation, repairs and improvements at our properties. But we’re not in the business of presenting our places as museums. We want them to be sources of enjoyment, with more open fires, pianos playing and kitchens cooking. That’s really important to us. Working in conservation, you’ll help to celebrate the unique spirit of every place and space, while making sure that we’re caring for and safeguarding their culture, social, political and economic relevance. Some challenge. Some opportunity.

We have all sorts of roles available, right across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, from Archaeologists and Building Managers, to Curators, Conservators and Garden Advisers. You can also join us as a Conservation Assistant, helping us to keep our special places special.
