Benefits

Even more rewarding

Imagine being able to make a difference to our natural and built heritage and environment each and every time you go to work? And now imagine being rewarded for doing it...

With the National Trust, you will enjoy the following benefits in return for your contribution:

Free admission to Trust properties

Your National Trust staff card entitles you to free admission to any Trust property. The card also allows you to bring along your children, and one other person, at no extra cost.

Discounts at properties

Your staff card doesn't simply get you in to properties - it also entitles you to a 20% discount at all National Trust shops and catering outlets.

Discount at holiday cottages

With more than 335 unique cottages in outstanding locations across England, Wales and Northern Ireland for you to choose from, you can make the most of the 50% discount all staff enjoy on the published prices during off-peak periods.

Pensions

You can join the Trust's Stakeholder Pension scheme through our pension provider Legal & General. The scheme also provides generous ill-health and death-in-service benefits. You have to make a minimum contribution of 3% (you can pay more if you choose), and in return you'll receive 6% in employer contributions. Seasonal staff have access to a separate scheme operated by Scottish Widows.

Holidays

Your holiday allowance starts at 25 days per year, rising to 28 days after three years' service, and up to 30 days' holiday after ten years' service.

Sick pay

You will be eligible to sick pay above statutory entitlements.

Work-life balance

We are wholeheartedly committed to promoting a healthy work-life balance, and we have a number of family-friendly policies in place, including enhanced maternity and paternity leave, plus childcare vouchers.

Employee Assistance Programme

This service, provided by Corecare, a professional counselling organisation, is available to you free of charge. Corecare operates a freephone helpline that provides support, advice and information on a range of issues, from legal and financial to family matters.

Other discounts

We've also linked up with health and financial services organisations to provide you with further discounts. These include BUPA private healthcover, offering up to 25% off membership, plus discounts with Norwich Union on home, motor and travel insurance.
